A loose plan
A few starting points, with most days shaped by the interests and energy of the families who are there.
Events at our home in Central Portugal
Travelling families sharing time, ideas and skills at our home in Central Portugal.
We are exploring the idea of opening our home to a small group of families for a loose, flexible gathering. We have never hosted one before and there are no dates yet.

The central idea
A river beach one day, a hike the next and perhaps a treasure hunt, a giant den or a mural taking shape on the land. We will arrange a few local adventures, but many of the best ideas will come from the families who join us.
Children and adults can bring a game, a skill, a story or an activity they would enjoy sharing. It could be art, AI, building, games, exploring or something none of us has thought of yet.
There will be no timetable to follow and nothing anyone has to join. The idea is simply to create the space, bring people together and see what grows from it.
A few starting points, with most days shaped by the interests and energy of the families who are there.
Activities can come from any child or adult who has an idea, story, project or skill they would enjoy sharing.
Join what feels right, take time out when needed and let every gathering become its own experience.
Flexible by design
We imagine around five to seven families coming together, with a rough age range of 4 to 14 for the first gathering. That is only a guide. Younger and older siblings are welcome, and future gatherings could suit different ages.
Families would mostly cater for themselves, with a shared potluck meal when the weather allows.
This is not a drop off programme or childcare. Parents remain responsible for their children, but our quiet setting at the edge of a tiny village gives children room to play, explore and find their independence.

Staying with us
Vanlifers and roadschoolers can stay in their own vehicles on the land. The annex can accommodate another family. BATC, our Ford Transit Mk7 motorhome, may also be available for a family who would like a taste of van life. He has two double beds and a dinette that converts into another double.
Help shape the first gathering
We do not have dates or a fixed contribution yet. We want any contribution to use an inclusive sliding scale. For now, tell us you are interested or share an idea with us.
